Zucchini Stir Fry

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re having a great day!  Mine is better than yesterday!  I seriously think the weather here is getting to me!

Today I tried two new things!

Remember WAYY back when, when I tried Amazing Grass for the first time and absolutely hated it?  Well I still had a packet of the chocolate superfood powder from when I ordered that sampler.  I decided to give it another try!  However, this time I decided to try less.  So instead of dumping the whole packet in my green monster, I sprinkled about a fourth of the packet in.

It was delicious!  The gritiness that I hated the first time around wasn’t there, and the chocolatey-ness was great!  I’m not sure I’ll keep buying it just because it’s expensive… when I’m rollin’ in the dough, I would definitely consider adding it to my smoothies more regularly.

Are you a fan of Amazing Grass?

The second new thing I tried was Kikkoman Ponzu, which is a citrus seasoned soy sauce.  I got this a few weeks ago as part of the Food Buzz Tastemakers program.

I’m running low on groceries so I pulled together a bunch of random ingredients to make a delicious stir fry!

Zucchini Stir Fry

1/2 onion, sliced
1/2 tsp chopped ginger
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 zucchini, diced
1 tsp Trader Joe’s Soyaki
2 tsp Kikkoman Ponzu
Pepper to taste

Add the onions to a nonstick pan (sprayed with olive oil or any oil you prefer) and cook for a few minutes.  Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.  Add zucchini, sauces and pepper, cook for a few more minutes until tender.  Serve with noodles or rice.

This would be great with some pineapple chunks in there too!  Maybe some nuts?

I enjoyed mine with Trader Joe’s Harvest Grain Mix that I’ve had since about August… Finally time to use it up! And a Morningstar Veggie Patty for some added protein.

Delish!

The Kikkoman sauce was really good.  Since I didn’t try it on its own, it tasted somewhat like regular soy sauce but with a tiny kick.  Worth a try!

Now I’m off to read and then head to class!  Have a great afternoon/evening!

Tomorrow is Friday!!! WOOO!!!

I drink amazing grass and spirulina in my oj every morning. It doesn’t taste great, but it gets me up and moving! I can tell a serious difference in my energy level when I don’t drink it.

Your zucchini stir fry looks divine! I bought a bunch of Amazing Grass and can’t handle it at all… it doesn’t taste too go, and it really upsets my stomach. I have some extra packets if you’re interested in them. I was just going to use them in a giveaway, bit if you want them I am more than happy to send them to you!

Mmm – stir fry looks super good. I’d love to get my hands on that soy sauce! I’m not a huge fan of normal soy sauce – I could take it or leave it…but the citrus sounds like it’d be really good.
And I’ve never tried Amazing Grass! Have heard lots about it, though. And I’m so glad you’re having a better day! The weather greatly affects my mood, too. It’s so annoying sometimes because I just can’t get out of a “funk” when the weather’s gross, even if I want to! lol.

I must get some zucc this weekend, I love it so! Stir frys are the best, they taste good and give you vitamins!

I was checking out that grain mix the other day, it looks interesting. Would you buy it again?

You know that one piece of zucchini at the bottom looks like pineapple and I thought “oh what a fun mix! Pineapple and zucchini! Must taste great” 😉 Haha and then I realized that it wasn’t pineapple & read on and had to laugh out loud when I saw your pineapple comment. 😉
That ponzo sauce looks great! Why don’t we have such fancy stuff over here? We don’t even have low sodium soy sauce…

interesting soy sauce, with the lime it makes it more like a thai thing? mmm… i need to check that out.
not a Amazing grass fan, I tried every possible way to make it taste good, but it always taste the same no matter what I do to it. 😦

Funky, have not seen the Ponzu sauce yet but I want to try it! I wonder how it would be with sushi? Hmmm….

Amazing Grass is something I have yet to try although it’s on my (long) list of things to sample. I have heard equally good and bad things about it though. Whenever I have a sample pack of protein powder, I also use just just a 1/4 or 1/2

I pretty much love all citrus, the Ponzu looks great. Your stir fry looks amazing! I love the harvest grains too! Amazing grass, ehh. It is ok. I bought the chocolate super food and liked it , then bought the pomegranate, peach, mango amazing meal. BLEH! It was terrible! I’m thinking it is too expensive.
