Let’s Go Streaking!

Ok actually you can and should do this with your clothes on!

My brother-in-law started a fun facebook group called The Running Streak Group.

Basically the idea is to run (at least) 1 mile everyday, never missing a day.  You can see the United States Running Streak Association for more info!

Starting April 1st, I’m going to try to run at least 1 mile everyday!  Sounds kind of fun right?  Anyone want to join me?  Feel free to join the facebook group!  Good way to make sure you get moving at least a little bit everyday!

I wish I had more exciting eats to show you all, but unfortunately I’ve been running around like a chicken with its head cut off for the past few days!   I’m trying to get together school work, apply for internships and be the overall rockstar that I am!

This morning I made a green monster for breakfast and in my rush out the door, forgot it.  That was upsetting… luckily I wasn’t hungry this morning.

But I’m pretty excited for lunch. I’m trying something new!

Tempeh with jam and spinach! (Note my super bread slicing skills aka super uneven!) Ready to go…

Sounds like an interesting combo!  I’ve seen it around the blog world!  I’ll let you know how it is. Have you ever had the tempeh/preserve/sweet combo?  Did you like it?

EDIT: OMG THIS IS AMAZING!!!

In other news, my Stress-Less March idea is working really well.  While it sucks to have to take everything with me and lug it around campus all day, it’s really nice to get so much done and come home and sort of relax for a bit.

I’m in the library so I should probably get to work.  Hope you have a great day!!

I was going to plug the Running Streak, but haven’t yet. Glad that you did! BTW, having a hard time reading the yellow font on your new layout. But, glad that we made it on the blogroll! and I often run around like a chicken with my head cut off! (and I always keep it on the DL that I loved Britney, now replaced by Christina and Beyonce)

The running streak association is a cool concept! I think I’ve got it down pat 😀

Savory + Sweet often go really well together

    I love that streaking idea!

If you go to youtube and search “Yo Mama Jimmy Kimmel,” that video will come up– it’s worth it 🙂 I wonder why it didn’t work? Boo!

Seeeriously loving your new layout. Looks great!! Super streamlined.
Aaand, love your brother’s group!! Don’t think I can commit yet, though 😦
That sandwich looks killer – that bread especially!!

All I can hear right now is Will Ferrell in Old School yelling out “We’re going streaking!!!” lol love the idea though and will have to check it out on fb.

I only tried tempeh once and wasnt too crazy about it. How did you prepare it for the sandwich and what kind did you use?

      Haha! Love Old School!

I used raw tempeh. I toasted the bread, spread both sides with jam, put 1/3 of the tempeh block on there added some spinach and closed up shop. Surprisingly simple 🙂 Definitely worth a try!

I love your bread slices! (That is how I slice too!)
Love the idea of the running streaking group! At the weight-loss camp I work at we do a 1-mile walk everyday so by the end of camp they have completed a “marathon”!

Mmmm that sandwich does sound good!! I’ve never tried that combo but now I want to!!! The only tempeh that I ever see in stores is very expensive so I don’t know if I’ll be trying it anytime soon….. My next trip to the states I’ll have to check out the tempeh there 🙂

I’ve never even tried tempeh~ is it good? it doesn’t look very appetizing. but with preserves? sounds great! 🙂 I definitely trying it!
    have a great day! 😉

Honestly, I don’t think tempeh tastes like a whole lot. When I first tried it, I was put off by the texture and the idea of what it is: fermented soybeans. For some reason that sort of was weird for me, same goes for tofu, which sounds strange. But I really like it on this sandwich! I also had jamaican jerk tempeh at Moosewood once and it was AMAZING! I definitely recommend giving tempeh a try. Have a great day!!

I’ve never had tempeh in a sandwich but I’m intrigued!
Bloggie twin, you should see my bread slicing skills and you would run away screaming! 😉

Your slicing skills make the sandwich look even better–more chunky and rustic and scrumptious!

I’d love to do the Running Streak thing, but I’d have to hide it from the Mr, who already thinks running 3x per week and swimming 3x is nutso (his idea of exercise is watering the plants).
