I don’t understand Twitter. I just plain don’t get it.
I mean, I think shitmydadsays is hilarious and I understand the entertainment value in it. Heck, I even understand why President Obama would have twitter. But what would I have to say that I can’t say on this blog? Why would anyone want to read a 20 word blurb about how sleep won the battle of sleep vs. exercise this morning or how awesome I think Excel is?
I’m not saying others shouldn’t tweet, but I’m just not sure why anyone would want to read mine. Are you on twitter? What do you tweet about? Is it fun? Am I missing out?
Anyway, enough about twitter.
This week is INSANE!! Here’s a little sample from my to do list…
Karla’s To Do List:
- Finish Reading Good Governance in the Tropics (self imposed deadline: today… hmm might not happen, 90 pgs left)
- Reading for Urban Transformations in the Global South (need to be done tonight, 3 of 5 readings done so far… Africa makes me sad…)
- Reading response for above mentioned readings (by tonight at midnight)
- Readings for Urban Spatial Theory (err… might not get to these)
- Term Paper on Good Governance book mentioned above (due Tuesday, no idea what to write about… good governance?)
- Econ problem set due Thursday (luckily almost done)
- Methods problem set (basically kicking my butt, spent 4 hours on it Sunday only to do 1.5 questions out of 5… meeting with study group tonight, due Monday)
Basically I’m swamped! Strangely enough I don’t feel as stressed as I usually am… weird, huh?
I’m also baking for class on Wednesday but have no idea what to make! Any ideas? I was thinking some sort of cupcake, muffin or cookie since those are easy to transport.
Now, I’m getting ready to go to class. It’s going to be a busy but WONDERFUL day!
Have a good one!!
I am on twitter. I like it cause I’m far away from my family and friends and I get to read all of the stuff they are up to on a daily basis.
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for this post. I don’t get Twitter at all!!!! It makes me feel freakin’ old, because I complain about it the way my mom used to complain about not understanding facebook (before she joined, that is). It just seems like such a time waster!
I hear ya on the twitter thing. Sometimes I wish I had one just as a way to remember the random thoughts I have – and then remember “oh, yeah…that’s what the memo pad in my phone is for.” but I never get around to doing that, either. And then it’s time to blog and I can’t remember half of the witty things I think to say throughout the day. Oh, woe is me. haha. Although – I am laughing at shitmydadsays right now 😛
Glad you’re not letting your to-do list stress you out!! Good for you. It’s so much easier to get stuff done when you’re not freaking out about getting it done.
Aaand, this Moosewoods cookbook has got some rockin’ recipes 😉 – want me to e-mail you some ideas for class?! They’ve got a great breakfast muffin recipe, and today I made fruit & date truffles. (p.s. I got the “Cooking for Health” one – you asked how it was, and I. am. in. love. I wish I could like, cook and eat 24/7 and make like, 3/4s of the recipes in here.)
Okay, I’m finishing this novel now 😛
Agreed on Twitter, it just seems like a dangerously addicting waste of time. 😛
I definitely do not get twitter. I have two of them and can’t figure out why I would want to use them. Glad I am not the only one.
Is there supposed to be a theme for your baking project? My boyfriend had a class project recently and brought meatballs in a crock pot apparently they were the hit of the class. Kind of weird – I know! 🙂
No theme to the baking. Meatballs is a clever idea! I don’t eat meat though 🙂 But the idea of thinking beyond sweets is interesting!
Haha I said the same thing about Twitter…but like all things, I make fun of it at first and am not interested, then eventually get sucked in a love it anyways 🙂
Holy crap woman! You have so much to do and to read—good luck and remember to breathe 🙂
I don’t know anything about Twitter and don’t care to. I have facebook and that even annoys me at some times. I figure people can email, text, call, im, etc. me why add another to the list? And I really dont care what some people are doing every single second.
If it’s a morning class and someone is bringing coffee, my vote is biscotti!
hahahhahaha this couldnt have come at more perfect time. i was just thinking to myself.
this came out of my mouth, said to my roommate today: “I dont know if youve ever had a tweet chat. But my head is going to explode.”
lol. I love twitter probably to an unhealthy level but tonight, I experienced a tweet chat for the first time and I, for the first time, felt old on twitter.
see that was barely a coherent comment I am just THAT excited at the thought of twitter.
same here. i just don’t get it! Why I want to know every single detail of other person’s life? I don’t even want to know my husband’s.
your to-do list seems long! i can’t beat you 😉
Oh my! I thought that I was the only one who didn’t get Twitter! Though I must say that it’s so not popular over here.. which I kind of like because I don’t think that it’s really necessary.
haha I never understood Twitter either. I really don’t think my life is exciting enough for people to care (even though i blog about it!)
